Mavic Pro Road Shoe 2010 Review

I'm not one to write many reviews, but I had to spend the time to say a few words on the incredible Mavic Pro Road Shoes. I've been looking for new shoes for a few months now because my old Northwave ones were giving me toe pains. I've gone through a good number of some of the high end shoes and finally found the one! I was pretty jealous when reading other shoe reviews stating how the "shoe was so comfortable" and "they don't even think about their shoe/foot pain anymore."
My feet are 10.5 US, slightly wider than average and medium arches.
First, I tried the Sidi Genius 5.5. Right from the start, they were too narrow for me. So I let those go.
Second, I tried Shimano R310. Though they felt nice while riding, the material on the bottom sole felt too cheap and seemed like it was going to fall apart if I ever walked in them. So I let those go.
Third, I tried the Bont A-One. These were by far the stiffest shoes I've ever tried. Though I heat molded them and rode a few times with them, they just couldn't conform to my feet. The shape of the base just wasn't made for my feet. It felt awkward when riding, although the large toe box did help with my toe pain. In the end, it just wasn't for me. So I let those go.
Lastly, I tried the Mavic Pro Road Shoes. These shoes are light and a well ventilated. They are extremely, and surprisingly, comfortable. I say surprisingly because the Shimano and Bont were heat molded to my feet but they didn't feel as comfortable as these Mavics. The straps make it easy to make the shoe tight enough to stay in place, but not too tight to cut circulation. The inner base is very comfortable and as stiff as the Bont's. The bottom sole is well constructed and looks like it'll last me a long time. The heel has a nice carbon fiber mold so it grips my feet well and keeps it in place. The power transfer is stunning and it has added a couple of miles an hour to my ride. The shoes feel so light and somewhat "airy" that you sort of forget they're there. They're stylish and better looking than all the other ones I've gone through in my honest opinion. No more shoe pain, toe pain, hotspots or even the thought of anything being wrong with my feet.
I can finally join the crew of "I've found my dream riding shoe" thanks to the Mavic Pro Road Shoes. I would HIGHLY recommend these to anyone that has been on a shoe hunt and hasn't been able to find the right one. Although everyone's fit is different, I think you'll be fairly impressed with these.
