Pearl iZUMi Men's Fuel Cyling Shoe Review

A good looking, very lightweight shoe that is exactly as advertised. This is a great shoe for short bike commutes and spin class. I have a 30 mile commute and it is fine for that. The shoe is very comfortable when it is first tried on. I would not use these shoes for rides more than 35 miles. The sole is not stiff enough. I begin to feel the cleats when clipped in after about 10 miles. The upper part of the shoe is basically made like an athletic shoe. It lacks support and though I have only owned the shoe for a month, I am convinced that over time the material will stretch and will be subject to wear and tear far more quickly than what I would expect. I bought this shoe in the hopes of replacing my other bike shoes (Pearl Izumi X-Alps which are awesome). These are not as a durable bike shoe. In all fairness, Pearl Izumi is marketing them exactly for what they are. My disappointment stems from the fact that they are not more, expecially when they are only $5 less than a much better shoe. The price point for this shoe is off.
